D’on Lauren Edwards is originally from Los Angeles, California but was raised in Portland, Oregon. She is currently pursuing her BFA in fashion design at Savannah College of Art and Design. 

 

D’on’s love and passion for ballet has been instilled in her since she was three years old. At the age of 17 she had to stop her dreams of becoming a prima ballerina due to battling her autoimmune disease. She realizes that in life you cannot let obstacles get in the way of reaching your goals and dreams, but they can open your eyes to new perspectives. D’on recognizes life’s challenges that have transpired and has used them to influence her work to design with purpose. 

 

From her love of ballet she took that discipline, drive and influence and applied it to her work in fashion and accessory design. D’on’s designs focus on the technical fit and diverse sizing, especially for a petite woman like herself. Combining that with sustainability and zero-waste design principles is the design language that defines her vision for how she fits into the fashion industry.
